Udawalawe is world renowned for its national park, but there’s so much more to be discovered.
A few places to visit are the Sevanagala Sugar Factory where the majority of Sri Lanka’s sugar is produced, and the Elephant Transit Home which is home to dozens of orphaned baby elephants.
Speak to our staff to arrange a tuk tuk ride around the village where you can ride through sugarcane plantations and along silently flowing streams and visit a sugar syrup factory.
Take a stroll along the spillway bordering the resort and you will see many birds, buffalo and small animals.
If it’s a river bath that you fancy (highly recommended!), speak to our staff and they will direct you to the best spots in town!
